Which design tool to choose
If you work in Figma and receive a PDF or an .AI file, use the Figma converters: text, vectors and images arrive as editable layers. For the opposite direction, Figma to Illustrator gives you an .AI file for production.
If you are printing, convert the PDF to CMYK with a real ICC profile (FOGRA39, GRACoL, SWOP or Japan Color) and run it through the preflight checker, which flags low-resolution images, missing bleed or unembedded fonts. For PNG or JPG logos you need as vectors, use the vectorizer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I edit a converted PDF in Figma?
Yes. The converter extracts the text, vectors and images of the PDF as editable layers and you paste them into Figma with Ctrl+V. It works best with PDFs exported from design software rather than scanned documents.
Which CMYK profile should I use for printing?
For offset printing in Europe the usual standard is FOGRA39 (Coated FOGRA39); in the United States it is usually GRACoL or SWOP. If your printer asks for a specific profile, use that one: the converter includes the most common ones.
Are the design tools free?
You can try each tool for free with one file. The CSS generators (gradients, shadows and corners) are free with no limit. ToolStudio Pro gives unlimited use, batch processing and removes ads.
