What is nightcore?
Nightcore started in the early 2000s with sped-up eurodance remixes, and today the name covers any faster, higher-pitched version of a song, often paired with anime-style artwork. The sped up versions on TikTok follow the same idea with slightly gentler speed-ups.
To get the effect, the song is played faster like a record at higher RPM, so the pitch rises along with the tempo. At 1.25× (the classic setting) the song is 20% shorter and sounds about four semitones higher; at 1.10× or 1.15× you get a subtler sped up version. You can pick any value from 1.05× to 1.60×.
Raising the pitch makes the bass lose some presence, so you can add a bass boost of up to +10 dB to bring the punch back. The final volume is adjusted so it never clips.
Everything is processed in your browser. You get one free try with a single song; with ToolStudio Pro you can make as many versions as you like and process several songs at once.

Frequently Asked Questions
What speed does nightcore use?
The most typical is 1.25×, though many versions range from 1.15× to 1.35×. Sped up versions on TikTok usually stay around 1.10× to 1.20×.
Can I speed up a song without raising the pitch?
Yes, with the speed changer and the “Keep pitch” option. Nightcore, on the other hand, raises the pitch on purpose.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Your audio is read, processed and converted right in your browser using the Web Audio API. The file is never uploaded to a server and never leaves your device.
Is it free?
You get one free try per tool: one audio file. You can reprocess that same file with different settings as many times as you like, but to process a new file you need ToolStudio Pro, which gives you unlimited use of every tool, batch processing (several files at once, downloaded together in a ZIP) and no ads. You can cancel anytime.
