Why change the pitch?
A song may be in a key that’s too high for your voice, or written for an instrument tuned differently from yours. Pitch shifting transposes it up or down without altering the tempo, so you can sing or play along comfortably.
Choose how many semitones to move it, from −12 to +12. A semitone is the distance between two neighboring keys on a piano: +2 takes a song from C to D, −5 from C down to the G below, and 12 semitones make a full octave. Fine-tuning in cents (hundredths of a semitone) lets you correct recordings that sound slightly out of tune with your instrument.
To keep the length unchanged, the audio is first stretched or compressed in time without touching the pitch, then played faster or slower until it’s back to its original length. Small shifts of one to four semitones sound very natural; extreme ones can give voices an artificial tone, which is sometimes exactly the effect you’re after.
Everything is processed in your browser. The free trial lets you process one file; with ToolStudio Pro you can transpose several at once, with no limits.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does changing the pitch change the speed?
No. The length of the audio stays the same. If you want to change speed and pitch together, like a sped-up record, use the Nightcore tool or the speed changer with “Keep pitch” turned off.
How many semitones can I shift up or down?
Up to 12 in either direction, which is one octave, with fine-tuning of ±50 cents.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Your audio is read, processed and converted right in your browser using the Web Audio API. The file is never uploaded to a server and never leaves your device.
Is it free?
You get one free try per tool: one audio file. You can reprocess that same file with different settings as many times as you like, but to process a new file you need ToolStudio Pro, which gives you unlimited use of every tool, batch processing (several files at once, downloaded together in a ZIP) and no ads. You can cancel anytime.
