Why convert an SVG to ICO?
Many logos are designed as SVG because it is a vector format: it scales up or down without losing quality. But Windows and many older systems do not use SVG for icons, and favicon.ico is still the format every browser understands. That is why you need to convert the SVG to ICO.
Starting from an SVG means each ICO size is drawn straight from the vector instead of shrinking a large image. The 16 px icon gets clean edges and the 256 px one is just as sharp. The tool respects the SVG viewBox, even when the file has no width or height, and centres it in a square icon without distortion.
You can choose the sizes inside the ICO, keep transparency or use a background colour, and add an inner margin. Everything is processed in your browser and the file is never uploaded. With ToolStudio Pro you convert many SVGs at once and download them in a ZIP.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my SVG uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
Is the ICO sharp at small sizes?
Yes. Each size is drawn from the vector, not from a shrunk image. Even so, very fine detail is lost at 16 px; check the preview and use a simplified logo if needed.
My SVG has no width or height. Does it work?
Yes. The tool uses the viewBox to work out the proportions and draws the SVG centred in the icon.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. Empty areas of the SVG stay transparent in the ICO unless you choose a background colour.
Can I use the SVG directly as a favicon?
Modern browsers accept SVG favicons, but you should also have a favicon.ico for those that do not. For both, plus mobile icons, use the app icon generator.
Can I convert several SVGs at once?
Yes, with ToolStudio Pro. They are converted with the same settings and downloaded together in a ZIP. The free try covers one file.
