Why extract the images from a PDF?
A catalog, presentation or report in PDF often holds photos, logos and charts you want to reuse on a website, in a post or in another document. A screenshot crops the picture and lowers its quality; extracting it gives you the file exactly as it is stored in the PDF.
The tool goes through every page, finds each embedded image and saves it at its original resolution. If the same image repeats on several pages, like a header logo, you get it once. You can skip icons and decorations under 50 px to keep only the images that matter.
Choose PNG to keep the exact quality and transparency, or JPG for lighter files. You see a thumbnail of each image with its dimensions and the page it comes from, and you can download them one by one or all together in a ZIP.
The PDF is read in your browser with pdf.js and never uploaded to a server. The free try extracts every image from one PDF; with ToolStudio Pro there are no limits and you can process several PDFs at once.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the images keep their original quality?
Yes. You get the image as it is stored in the PDF, with its original pixels, not a screenshot of the page. PNG loses nothing; JPG is recompressed to make the file smaller.
Why doesn’t it find any images in my PDF?
The PDF may have no embedded images: vector drawings and text are not images. If you want the whole page as a picture, use PDF to JPG.
What about a scanned document?
Each scanned page is usually a single image, so you get one image per page at the scan’s resolution.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened and processed right in your browser. It’s never uploaded to a server and never leaves your device, so you can safely use it with contracts, invoices or personal documents.
Can I extract images from a password-protected PDF?
PDFs with an open password can’t be opened without it. First remove the password in the program you created the file with (or in your PDF reader, using the password), then try again.
Is it free?
You get one free try per tool: one PDF (two for merging, one image for creating a PDF). You can reprocess that same file with different settings as many times as you like, but to process a new file you need ToolStudio Pro, which gives you unlimited use of every tool, batch processing (several files at once, downloaded together in a ZIP) and no ads. You can cancel anytime.
