Why trim an audio file?
Almost every recording has something you don’t need: a few seconds of silence before it starts, a podcast intro, applause at the end or a part that repeats. Trimming the audio lets you keep only what matters, without installing an editor like Audacity or learning how to use one.
The tool draws the file’s waveform so you can see where each part starts and ends. Drag the edges of the highlighted area or type the exact seconds, preview the selection before processing and choose what to do with it: keep it (to pull out a clip or make a ringtone) or remove it and join what’s left (to cut a section from the middle without leaving a gap).
You can add a fade in and a fade out of up to ten seconds each so the cut doesn’t sound abrupt. The result downloads as MP3 at the quality you choose, or as uncompressed WAV if you plan to keep editing it.
Everything happens in your browser: the file is never uploaded to a server. The free trial lets you trim one file; with ToolStudio Pro you get unlimited use and can apply the same cut to several files at once and download them in a ZIP.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cut a section out of the middle of an audio file?
Yes. Select the part you don’t want and choose “Remove the selection and join the rest”. That section disappears and the two remaining parts are joined with no silence between them.
Does trimming an MP3 reduce its quality?
The audio is re-encoded when you save it. At 256 or 320 kbps you won’t hear a difference from the original; if you need maximum quality for further editing, download it as WAV.
Which formats can I trim?
You can open MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, FLAC, WEBM and the audio track of an MP4 or MOV video (exact support depends on your browser). The result downloads as MP3 at 128 to 320 kbps or as uncompressed WAV.
Is my audio uploaded to a server?
No. Your audio is read, processed and converted right in your browser using the Web Audio API. The file is never uploaded to a server and never leaves your device.
Is it free?
You get one free try per tool: one audio file. You can reprocess that same file with different settings as many times as you like, but to process a new file you need ToolStudio Pro, which gives you unlimited use of every tool, batch processing (several files at once, downloaded together in a ZIP) and no ads. You can cancel anytime.
